Whether you’re a fan of the fried dough arts, or you steer clear of the overly-fattening breakfast staple, there’s no denying Sioux Falls has a dearth of donut options.
Daylight Donuts; Hy-Vees; weekend off-sale Krispy Kreme on the corner of Western Avenue and 41st Street. That’s the list.
But joining the fray this week is Flyboy Donuts, over at The Bridges in the old Nucci’s space.
You can read a little more about the business here, but the gist of it is it’s a solid, if not unspectacular option for donuts in an area of town where there wasn’t one.
Both the classic glazed donut, and the cake-style glazed Old Fashioned I tried were good. I mean, it IS a donut, right?
And I’m sure they’ll get better once the crew starts making the donuts on site rather than the current transporting from their kitchen in Tea.
So while my socks are still snug on my feet, if Flyboy was en route to whereI lived or worked, I’d certainly keep it in the rotation.
