New Spot Roundup: QT, Pita and Bogtrotters

A lot has happened in the last week or so in the Sioux Falls eating scene. And once again, it’s all been brought to you, first, by the Sioux Falls Business Journal (this is the shameless plug portion of the blog post. At least shamelessly promoting someone else portion).

So, ICYMI, here’s a quick roundup:

1. QT Cakes is moving in to the old Cookie Jar location. As our yet-unknown-friends at @FakeArgusLeader pointed out this week, this brings the downtown bakery/patisserie count to new heights.

2. Pita Pit, the maker of sub sandwiches in pita form (though the falafel is pretty great) is opening a second location for all you east-siders. Yay chain expansion!(?)

3. Bogtrotters Pub, Grub & Tap is set to open up downtown this summer. And while we know next-to-nothing about this new place, other than they plan on being an Irish pub with more than 20 beers on tap and serving up fish and chips, I’m excited about this one for sure. Full disclosure, the owner of the upcoming joint is my friend, Paul Saxton. Still, another downtown (pictured above) option? I’m all about that, regardless of who is opening it.

So, if you’ll allow my another plug, and I know I’ve said this before, if this isn’t enough for you to follow @sfbj on Twitter, “like” Sioux Falls Business Journal on Facebook, and/or constantly check in on www.sfbj.com, you’re doing it wrong.
