Quick Hit: Chicken Fried Bacon is delicious

Last May, I wrote this post about The Other Place, including this passage:
“It’s an vast, dark, kinda depressing version of a Denny’s. I knew this from my one previous encounter with The Other Place.”
And while this is still true, I found myself there again with a group of friends. Once again, we had great service, but with a wholly different menu, this time written in some horrible attempt at what I assume is hillbilly-speak. Parts of the menu are honestly hard to decipher and the whole schtick is a bit off-putting.
If you can get past the aesthetics and annoying menu, however, the made-in-house Chicken Fried Bacon was actually very good.
Crisp, seasoned, breaded bacon, served in a cup of spicy pork country gravy, is certainly a good path to my heart (unhealthy eating pun intended), and I’d highly recommend this.
I also had jr. version of the Bubba Joe burger, which has the same cheese curd-stuffed burger topped with chili and an onion ring as the original, but with one patty instead of two. It was good enough, and the cheese curd stuffing is a fun twist on the Juicy Lucy practice.
I’m sure I’ll end up here again, though now I’m actually looking forward to it.
